Deirdre provides a supportive, safe and confidential setting where clients can talk about their experiences, difficulties or challenges which are causing distress or worry.

I believe that in therapy, it is important to gain an understanding of the person, in their current situation, their relationship to their self, to others, the environment and the social context within which they experience life. Psychotherapy provides a space to explore experiences and associated emotions, which often influence choices and behaviours. Change comes about in psychotherapy through processing emotions, behaviours and experiences, which in turn can strengthen an individual’s inner sense of direction, self-esteem and self-resilience. It can also provide clarity and insight, which enables an individual to see the world from a different perspective, creating the opportunity to find a new way forward.

Deirdre worked for 20 years in the multinational/technology sector.  This experience combined with her psychological studies, affords Deirdre a deeper understanding of workplace issues such as burnout, balancing work & life demands, personal issues, financial stress, workplace relationships and work pressures.

Through clinical practice and professional learning, I have gained specific experience in the following areas:- Attachment issues, Anxiety and Stress, Relationship difficulties, Depression, Suicidal thoughts and self-harm, Sexual identity, Gender identity, Workplace issues such as layoffs, burnout, Self-esteem and self-worth, Bereavement and loss.

With Deirdre, you will find a trustworthy, non-judgmental, caring approach within which you can explore your current situation and find support to map out your way forward.
