I am a re-accredited member of the IAHIP and am registered with ICP. I bring over 20 years of a wealth of psychotherapy experience to my work. This experience includes working as clinical director of a residential psychotherapy centre, training psychotherapy students in New Zealand, working as a counsellor in a college, and contracting as a counsellor/therapist for the HSE. I use an humanistic integrative approach from my core training and am also influenced by my post graduate training in the gestalt process, Mindfulness approaches, CBT, integrative body work, group therapy and sand play therapy.
I have a special interest in working with people who feel ‘stuck’ in any aspect of their lives. Relationships and family issues are also of particular interest to me in my work. I work with individuals, couples and groups. I also run stress management and parenting courses. I believe that psychotherapy helps us ‘get out of our own way’ and allows emotions to be worked though rather than denying, suppressing or judging them. This can, in turn, better inform our choices and behaviour.
Liz works with people who are experiencing difficulties in the following areas: anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, family issues, post-natal adjustment, self-esteem, abuse and trauma.
