John Searson, M.I.A.H.I.P., M.I.A.C.P., is a fully accredited child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor working in Dublin, Ireland.
John has long had an interest in people and relationships, curious about the dynamics between people, and what each of us brings to a relationship. He trained as a psychotherapist at the Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dun Laoghaire. The institute is one of the longest established training organizations for Psychotherapy and Counselling. It is fully accredited by the IAHIP, IACP and EAIP.
John has also furthered his studies in working with children, adolescents, trauma, neuro-psychotherapy, sand play, body work, complicated grief, child safety, self-harm behaviours and suicidology.
John was awarded a Diploma in Supervision at Dublin Therapy and Counselling Center in 2016 and is an accredited supervisor with the I.A.C.P. and obtained a Masters (Distinction) in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy with PCI College and the University of Middlesex.
John works in his private practice in DCTC meeting clients with a wide range of challenges. He was also the Senior Psychotherapist with Pieta House from 2010 until April 2017 where he was working predominately with adolescents and was also Director of Training within the organisation. Pieta House is a non-profit organization which provides a specialized treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideas or who participate in self-harming behaviours.
John has a specific interest in the journey and challenges faced by adolescents.
